Army sergeant denies wrongdoing in sex case trial
Fort Brivoir Va Army sergeant major Gene McKinney testifies he saw no inappropriate conduct visiting a female aide in her hotel room after midnight while in gym shorts. Prosecutors say he pressured six young women for sex, including Sgt Maj Brenda Hester who said she was accosted in Hawaii in 1996. McKinney contends he went to her room to fire her for incompetence. He denies 19 charges, cites his long marriage and the death of his child, and faces potential 55 years if convicted.
