Wichita Youth Held for Officers After Arrest
Lyman Whitsitt, 20, was arrested yesterday on Highway 973 in North Lawrence by Officers John Ingalls and Henry Smith while driving a stolen Chevrolet coupe taken February 24 from S. G. Kellborg at a Wichita tractor show. He was turned over to Sheriff R. R. Rutherford yesterday afternoon. Lawrence youths with him were not held. Whitsitt claimed the car was stolen by Earl Stover of Wichita, who planned to pay him to haul it, and that Stover had changed the car’s tags.
