Born November 14 1921 in Osawatomie KS to Ross and Mera Yocum she married Donald September 20 1942. A longtime Baldwin City resident she served in church and community roles including Sunday school teacher PEO member and founder of local 4H efforts. Survived by Donald and sons Michael Mark and David with multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren. Memorials to First United Methodist Church Baldwin City or Baker University. A Lawrence pedestrian hit by a vehicle over the weekend and left in the road remained hospitalized Tuesday per Lawrence police. The injured person was identified by authorities as the investigation continues.
The 46 year old Justin Boldwarrior of Lawrence was hospitalized with life threatening injuries after being struck by a car Saturday night. Lawrence Police said officers found him on Kasold Drive near West 22nd Street. The driver was located at a nearby residence and questioned as investigators pursue the case.
