Fire department made five runs in about twenty minutes between 12:00 and 12:30 today on grass fires along South Massachusetts street. The first blaze started in the lawn of W E Tenney at 1711 Massachusetts street and spread to W T Carpenters yard. strong winds kept flames burning until the department arrived. Firemen extinguished the fires without using hoses and then joined others heading toward a large grass fire in the 2100 block between Carl Hunter and Karl Kreider homes. No damage was reported.
