Stocks shrugged off a wobbly start finishing higher Monday after a stronger than expected housing market report. The S&P 500 climbed 1.5 percent as investors bought on the hopeful housing data pushing several names higher. The day included FDA decisions and notable corporate moves such as a $200 million stake in a cosmetics brand.
The library has installed covers facing outward on books, CDs and DVDs and Plexiglas at service desks. Main level opens, lower level stairs and elevator stay closed, with copies moved to the auditorium. Ventilation improved and air filters upgraded. Express service runs 10 am to 6 pm weekdays and noon to 6 pm on weekends.
Art Gillum chose a rainbow motif for decorations, noting rainbows are her favorite color and June suits Pride Month. She enjoys making the Rainbow Strings for the Lawrence Community project during the pandemic but sometimes runs short of purple orange and yellow lids. contact via Facebook.
