A excursion train on the Colorado Midland struck a broken rail near an abandoned station at Cutters Creek on June 30. Seven cars piled into a wrecked mass. One local man, Francis M. English, was killed instantly and about 40 passengers were injured, several fatally.
A derailment of train No. 3 on the St Louis and Francisco line near Minchin, west of the city, caused the deaths of two laboring men heading home to Seedville, with one baggage car and several cars derailed. Names given include J. M. Humphrey and W. C. Well or Thomas Halvert, identity uncertain. An enormous rock fell onto the track at the wreck site but no other injuries reported.
A derailed tramcar returning from Ebitch's gardens near Vi Thirty-fifth Avenue and Terry Street injured eleven people, four seriously, as about 75 passengers rode the car. Flooding rain and a slipped truck caused the wreck on a curve, with the accident blamed on excessive speed. Nearby notices also report a World Wide Sunday School convention moves to Jerusalem in 1405, a Kansas City child killed by a wagon, and a gasoline launch fire at Lake Bemidji.
A seven month old passenger train rate dispute ended with a wreck east of Cascade in Ule yass near Colorades Springs. July 1 rate hikes triggered crowded cars and a disastrous derailment north of the track. A day coach overturned, one passenger Mr. English killed in the final car, while the rest escaped with varying injuries.
Wilkesbarre Pa June 20 the eighth week of the anthracite miners strike shows no change. National board member Fallon in charge says the miners remain determined unless arbitration occurs the strike will continue. He denies suffering among strikers and notes no privation for now. Local operators anticipate a possible break in the ranks at any time.

Bishop Fallows leads the committee on ethical and religious organizations aiming to show harmony between athletics and faith across nations.
