Tour de France star power fades amid doping scandals
The Tour faces a second year without a defending champion or a clear star as doping scandals threaten the race. Contador Rasmussen and Basso are absent, with Cadel Evans and Alejandro Valverde as leading figures. The sport’s governing body and ASO clash over tests and control, while sponsors and media watch for a cleansed image and renewed excitement.

Landis Appeal Outcome Due Monday in Lausanne
Floyd Landis will learn Monday whether he can reclaim his 2006 Tour de France title after CAS announced the decision from a five day appeal hearing in New York. Three CAS appointed lawyers heard 35 hours of testimony from 24 witnesses at a Manhattan law firm before the closed door session. Landis appealed after an American arbitration panel ruled in September that he used performance enhancing substances and was stripped of the title.
