Kansas abortion law draws mixed reactions in Topeka
In Kansas the new abortion statute takes effect Wednesday and imposes an eight hour waiting period parental notification for under 18s and clinic access penalties while enabling certain post viability limits. Supporters say it marks a tough stance while opponents warn loopholes could allow abortions under hardship or health risk claims. Local leaders disagree on the law’s strength with Kansans for Life touting protections and pro choice advocates warning of broad obstacles.
