Oldest Native Born Kansan Anna Merritt Dies at 96
Mrs. Anna P. Merritt, 96, of Wamego Kansas, claimed as the oldest woman born in Kansas, died at home. She was born April 15 1844 in Linn County and was the only white child among Potawatomi Indians where her father served as interpreter.
