Kansas City Markets Show Mixed Cattle and Hog Movements
Kansas City stock yards report last week’s price dip followed by strong to 25 cent gains in cattle and hog prices softening due to Chicago’s 60,000 hog run. Beef cattle supply tightened boosting values across fed steers and grass fat types. Sheep and lambs held steady amid active demand while stockers and feeders gained. Pigs sold up to 10.35 with hog trade uneven as Chicago’s larger run shifted western receipts. Slower horse and mule activity kept prices unchanged.
