About 300 of the Twenty-Fifth U S Infantry colored pass through St Louis en route from Texas to Dakota. They attend a Merchants' Exchange reception to inaugurate an electric lighting hall and fountain gift to the chamber by Capt John A Scudder.
A Berlin dispatch says Western powers may use a naval demonstration to enforce conference decisions. Prince Orloff arrives in Berlin and will confer with Prince Bismarck. An Alexandria dispatch reports King John concluded a peace treaty with the Egyptian government and the Berlin conference was unanimous on it.

A series of fires reported June 24 to 25 struck Buizanera New Jersey Woodsdale Ohio and Bracktown Pennsylvania. The Cordage Company's storehouse burned with a 15000 dollar loss and three deaths when a wall collapsed during firefighting.
