School board candidate attends Westboro Baptist Church
Kansas state school board hopeful Jack Wu links to Westboro Baptist Church known for anti gay protests while opposing evolution in public schools. He entered the race after learning Democrat Carolyn Campbell would be unopposed in eastern Kansas 4th District. Campbell supports current science standards treating evolution as a core concept. Wu says he was drawn to Topeka after “seeing the light” of the church, which has staged anti gay pickets for decades.
