Rethinking Aging Seminar on Elder Fraud Held in Wichita
Barbara J. Braa of CornerBank Lawrence attended a June 13 program in Wichita titled Rethinking Aging an Educational Program for Bankers on Preventing Fraud of the Elderly. The seminar warned elders face about 12 percent fraud risk and taught early warning signs reporting, and the role of banking records in securities fraud investigations. Volunteers from the Lawrence Chamber will distribute thousands of cupcakes during Business Appreciation Month across 11am to 1pm sessions Monday through Wednesday at local firms and the Kansas University Small Business Development Center will host two KDOR tax workshops for small businesses at the Lawrence Chamber with preregistration and a $20 to $30 fee.
