KU to merge environmental offices at Kansas
KU will fold the environmental ombudsman’s office into the environmental health and safety office within months. The change may eliminate the four year old ombudsman post and add a new staffer, with campus wide health safety and environmental policy statements planned within a year. Steve Hamburg, KU’s lone ombudsman since 1990, departs July 1 for the Environmental Defense Fund and Brown University.
