Faithful Parishioners Mark 50th Anniversary at Weaverville Church
Dozens of former parishioners returned to First Presbyterian Church of Weaverville North Carolina for its 50th birthday celebration. Agricultural missionary J Olin Coleman and missionaries Blanche Sayer Elisabeth C Smith and Rev Gordon Reeds spoke of the church as home and a lifelong influence. A cake honored Henry and Nellie Dendy on their 50th wedding anniversary and a $500 scholarship fund was created for them to award to future recipients. The church nurtured its own pastor Rev David Parks and the anniversary sermon focused on faithfulness from Revelation 3.
