Boy Leaves Hospital in Kansas City Missing Deaf Boy

Eleven year old William Allen Thompson wandered away from Childrens Mercy Hospital in Kansas City and police assistance was sought. He is deaf with a speech defect, about 5 feet tall and 108 pounds, wearing a light brown short sleeve shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes.

A sudden storm hit Lawrence at 11 40 p m causing high winds two power outages and tree damage. Lightning struck a utility pole and a line fell cutting power to areas on Oak Hill Connecticut Street and Grant Street. The storm dropped 41 hundredths of an inch of rain while winds gusted to 46 mph and temperatures fell from 75 to 63.
