PLHS star Gunnar Ball to play no college sports after four-sport high school career
Perry-Lecompton High School standout Gunnar Ball will attend Washburn University in business studies and not play any college sports, ending a diverse four-sport high school career. Ball, a quarterback who passed for 1500 yards and 13 TDs in seven games, averaged 16.1 points and 10 rebounds in basketball and excelled in baseball and track. He cites coaching influence and a desire to pursue entrepreneurship as reasons for shifting away from athletics, though he plans intramural activity and potential future coaching. Ball carried multiple honors including All-Area football and All-State First Team in baseball, while aiming to gain business experience and help younger players.
