Military moving vast Humvee fleet from Iraq
The U S Army has begun shipping thousands of Humvees and other equipment back to the United States as Iraqi units join the fight and U S forces anticipate fewer troops in Iraq. In four months 7000 Humvees and 17000 other items are being sent for rebuild and redistribution. Col Jack O Connor says this reduces U S equipment in Iraq as patrols shrink. Analysts suggest the move signals a potential broad troop reduction in six to twelve months.
