Stop Sign Experiment Wins City Backing
Lawrence city commissioners approved installing three stop signs at Orchard Lane and Centennial Drive despite staff, engineers, and a nearby high school senior voicing concerns. The measure targets cut-through traffic from Iowa Street to Crestline Drive and costs under 300 dollars, with a two-year study backing the city push. One commissioner opposed, urging signs only for real hazards.
