In Marianna Florida Judge E C Welch granted 16 year old Jimmie Lee Clark a new trial after conviction by an all white jury for raping a white woman. He pleaded guilty to life imprisonment. Two hours earlier four white youths were sentenced to life for raping a Negro college girl in Tallahassee.
