Diana trust loses bid over Franklin Mint likeness
A federal appeals court refused to revive a lawsuit by the Diana memorial fund against Franklin Mint Co. The Ninth Circuit upheld a lower court ruling that the mint had a right to use Diana's likeness for products in the United States and did not imply an affiliation with the trust. The post mortem publicity claim was rejected.
