Postal Unions Back New Contract Ratified By Big Unions
Leaders of the APWU and the National Association of Letter Carriers say they will push ratification of a two year pact lifting wages and benefits about 15 percent. The deal adds roughly 8 percent in year one and 6 percent in year two with semi annual cost of living increases. If approved, the contract would run to July 20 and may trigger a 9 cent rise in the first class letter rate.
