Regents set to vote on KU tuition increases today
Kansas University and other state universities face tuition and fee hikes as the Kansas Board of Regents votes on proposals. Lawrences campus seeks 4.4 percent rise with 65 percent of returning undergrads exempt from increases under the four year tuition compact, while the Medical Center would gain 7.6 percent for Kansas residents. Nonresident increases are 4.7 percent in Lawrence and 6 percent at the Medical Center. Gov Brownback’s cuts to higher education prompted higher tuition figures, with Lawrence projected to raise 7.8 million to support operations.
