Arson reports rise 27 percent in Kansas in 1991
The Kansas Committee on Arson Prevention reported 1991 arsons rose 27 percent to 2,793 of 21,083 fires, causing about 10 million dollars in arson damage. Improper reporting contributed to the increase, while hazardous waste incidents prompted city and county action. A new household hazardous waste center near 23rd and Delaware is slated to open in October.
