Inmate Escape Leads to Abandoned Truck Near Rock
A box truck used by two inmates to flee Winfield Correctional Facility was found abandoned about 15 miles northeast of Rock after a tire blowout. Authorities identified Robert Cook and Frank Crutchfield as missing and said a Douglass city truck is also unaccounted for. They seek information on the fugitives or the missing blue 2006 GMC Sierra with Kansas plate 74914.

Inmate sues over $1600 from jail account
Shawnee County Jail inmate Gary Lee Baker sues to recover more than $1,600 deducted from his inmate account for medical services. He acts with his own attorney and seeks repayment. The county maintains the charges relate to services in 2005 and 2008. Baker, booked in March for felony theft and driving while a habitual violator, pleaded guilty to theft last month. the driving charge was dismissed.
