Washburn to ease transfers for Haskell students
Washburn University outlined transfer guidelines to Haskell Indian Junior College and to Kansas two year colleges. The plan aims to avoid duplicating courses and to allow credits to transfer with a smooth transition. Washburn will review Haskell courses for transferability and offer $500 scholarships to two Haskell students with at least a 3.0 GPA.

County panel approves KPL substation near Eudora
Douglas County Commissioners unanimously approved KPL Gas Service plans to build a 12 kilovolt electric substation one mile west of County Road 1061 and Kansas Highway 10 just south of Eudora. The underground cables and 15 to 22 foot structure will increase capacity for Eudora and a two mile area with landscaping to conceal the facility. Completion aimed for June 1 1993 amid ongoing talks to run power lines to the city.
