Lawrence Public Library hosts Mysteries of Music with Dylan Bassett and Michael Hamm for 5 to 12 year olds at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Historic Resources Commission meets at 7 p.m. the same day in City Hall to discuss preservation matters.

Multiple vehicle crashes reported on Kansas Turnpike and city streets
Two people were taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital after a one car crash on the Kansas Turnpike near mile marker 203 when a 46 year old Lawrence woman lost control while sneezing. Other crashes on Arkansas Street West 19th Street and Clinton Parkway Crestline Drive involved Lawrence and Eudora residents with minor injuries and no printed police accounts. The Journal World notes it does not publish all police reports and limits naming victims or arrestees unless charged.

Harold D. Conner Rites Set in Oskaloosa for 79
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Barnett-Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Oskaloosa for Harold D. Conner 79 of Ozawkie who died Friday June 15 2007 at the Jefferson County Geriatric Center in Winchester. He was born January 17 1928 in La Junta Colorado and served in the U S Army during World War II. He worked as a freight car man for Santa Fe Railroad. He married Edna Ellen Williams on September 7 1948 in Raton New Mexico. She died November 1 2006. Survivors include six sons Emmett Clayton Dean Michael Matthew and Mark eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
