Police link suspect Michael Shumway to a Thursday night crash after witnesses say a Jeep turned into West Sixth Street rider Gary Boyd. Boyd, 36, with a broken wrist and memory loss, was treated at KU Medical Center and released. Shumway, 43, reportedly visited his ex-wife's home and asked to park the Jeep Cherokee before asking to turn himself in. authorities would not confirm warrants.
A 38-year-old Lawrence man was arrested by the Douglas County Sheriff on charges of aggravated indecent liberties with a child. Investigators say he had sexual relations with the 15-year-old daughter of a Eudora couple three times between May 9 and Saturday. No force was reported. He is held on $25,000 bond awaiting formal charges.
