Man Without Jacket Feared Drowned In Kansas River
Albert Tesson, 38, is missing after two canoes capsized near Minor Park in south Kansas City. His wife Pauline and son John survived along with Roger Baughman, his wife and son Charles. Tesson, an expert canoeist, was the only person not wearing a life jacket.

Fatal and injury crashes blot Douglas County roads
Kansas City man Virgil F Webb 53 was treated for minor injuries after a wreck on the Kansas Turnpike when his westbound 1966 auto struck a stationary truck while braking for a long line of backed up traffic. The Arnold death marked the counties tenth fatality this year on the turnpike. A Topeka couple injured in a separate one car crash east of Lawrence included Susan Jameson 22 and Robert Jameson 26. The sports car was destroyed and the car rolled after losing control and entering the medial strip.

High winds toppled a house trailer occupied by Ernest T. Brewster and family on Route 3 Baldwin. The Brewsters, plus their three children, suffered minor injuries. the trailer, set on blocks, was blown onto its top with $7000 damage. Winds exceeded 50 mph. no tornado observed.

Police arrested a 10 year old in the 400 block of Indiana Street after recovering recreational equipment stolen from cars at the City Water plant. The youth was turned over to juvenile authorities.
