Farm Bureau Opposes Kennedy Wheat Plan in Congress
The American Farm Bureau Federation condemns the Kennedy administration wheat program for 1962 as ineffective against over production. It would raise supports by 25 cents a bushel and requires a 10 percent acreage cut, with retirement payments and separate handling from feed grains. Spokesmen Charles Marshall and Lewis Munn argue for cropland adjustment instead.

Shawnee County District Court took under advisement a suit filed by L. F. Cushenberg challenging the lack of general reapportionment since 1886. Senators Wunsch and Mitchell argued the court lacks jurisdiction over a sovereign legislature, while Cushenberg urged the judiciary cannot force constitutional obedience and cited potential consequences if the legislature ignores the constitution.
