Sensational shooting at Ninth and Main ends with arrests

A dramatic shootout at the Ninth and Main street junction in Kansas City left Dr. Morrison Munford proprietor of the Times and two others wounded by attorney W. J. Carlile. Munford was struck near the breast, Jennie Straler 16 was hit in the car, and a bystander John Wall was wounded. Carlile was captured by officers as an angry crowd pursued him. Munford received medical care and Carlile was restrained. Also reports of a brutal assault near Mantor on a young woman and updates on western passenger rates reflect a wide page of events.

A telegram received in Manos Kansas on June 14 reports Mrs. C. Thomson, wife of the county sheriff, dying from complications after an operation performed in Kansas City last Thursday. The community is cast into gloom by the loss.
