Hallmark Outsources Ribbon Work at Lawrence Plant
Hallmark Cards Inc will outsource some ribbon and bow making from its Lawrence plant at 101 McDonald Drive without cutting jobs. The 800-employee facility, which produces 80 to 90 percent of the firm’s ribbons and bows and Shoebox cards, will shift a small, low-volume format to other suppliers to free capacity for other products. The move, beginning now and finishing by year end, follows a shift of 125 Leavenworth jobs earlier and consolidates Select Products into Eisenhower Road while selling that site.
