The June flood in the Ahr valley of the Eifel region in Cologne Germany is estimated to have drowned over 200 people. As of today eighty seven bodies have been recovered. A bridge at Schult collapsed under a crowd gathered to watch the torrent, costing fifty lives. Only one bridge remains intact in the valley.
