Dempsey's Plans Westport In Kotlin Burgers Deal
Westport will buy the Blanc Burgers Bottles site in the Westport district of Kansas City Missouri and convert it to a Dempsey's by July 7. This expands Dempsey's to four locations, with roots in Lawrence at 623 Vermont St and current spots in Lincoln Nebraska and Wichita Kansas. Gaudreau, owner of Quin ton's, envisions rapid growth and avoids franchising while building a self owned chain. The move follows strong Wichita performance and a record year in Lawrence, with Lincoln smaller but stable. He notes the Kansas City market offers expansion potential as name recognition grows. The column excerpt is from Chad Lawhorn's Town Talk.
