New York museum rivals Perot over Indian museum move
The American Museum of Natural History plans a counter proposal to keep the Museum of the American Indian in New York by outbidding H. Ross Perot's 70 million offer to move to Texas. A spokesman said the plan will be ready in about 30 days and sent to Indian museum officials and local opponents. Roland Force, head of the Indian museum, accused the natural history museum of stoking public opposition rather than aiding the financially troubled institution.

He argues high tax states are not unfairly penalized and notes most high tax state residents do not itemize deductions. He cites a New Jersey family of four earning 36450 would save over 650 under his plan versus 4635 now.
