Border clashes in Nuevo Laredo leave officer wounded
Federal agents clashed with city police in Nuevo Laredo as more than two dozen officers arrived to aid order amid violence post the deadly shooting of the new police chief Alejandra Dominguez. One federal officer was seriously wounded in the firefight. Police also reported arrests in Afghanistan related to the kidnapping of Italian aid worker Clementina Cantoni, who was freed after three weeks. In Manila, a 5,000-strong protest demanded President Arroyo's resignation amid graft and election-fix allegations.
