National eye makeup remover recalled over bacterial contamination

The FDA announced a nationwide recall of 16,300 bottles of Pierre Fabre Physicians Formula Eye Makeup Remover Lotion distributed March 4 to May 28. The product may be contaminated with two bacteria types that can cause sight threatening infections. Inquiries: (800) 227-0333.

White supremacist sentenced to prison

A 25-year-old man who published a white supremacist Internet newsletter was sentenced Monday to three years in prison for threatening a Jewish congressman and other officials and vandalizing two synagogues. He pleaded guilty to conspiracy to violate civil rights and agreed to apologize to victims and avoid white supremacist activity during the three years of probation. The publisher, Alex James Curtis, operated the National Observer from Lemon Grove, California, until his arrest last November and apologized in April to four victims including Rep. Bob Filner.

Bush doubts global warming as he tours Europe

President Bush expressed substantial doubts about the causes and extent of global warming while on his first European trip. He urged more scientific research and international partnerships to monitor and mitigate emissions, critiqued the Kyoto treaty, and proposed up to 25 million dollars for climate observation in developing countries plus joint ventures and university funded demonstrations for cleaner vehicles and energy.

Frustrated mother seeks progress in Costa Rica slaying case
