Ritchie Rites Held for McLouth Resident 95
Funeral services were held for Alexander C. Ritchie 95 at the Evangelical United Brethren Church in McLouth. Burial followed at McLouth Cemetery. Ritchie, a retired lumberman, died Thursday at a nearby nursing home. He was born October 24 1869 in Wilmington Illinois and lived in McLouth since 1924. He was survived by three sons eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Lawrence dancer Jacki Garland now in New York City will perform on Ed Sullivan’s TV program at 7 p.m. Sunday on Channel 5. She appears with a group featuring a number by British singer Tom Jones and is one of the dance soloists. Garland is the daughter of Mrs. Sam J. Garland of 443 Ala. and the late Mr. Garland who recently returned from Africa with a French company in the musical extravaganza Zizi.

A 13 year old Lawrence boy was treated at Lawrence Memorial Hospital Friday for minor injuries after a two vehicle crash at the 6th and Ark streets intersection. Dale Kennett 13 of 1528 Powers was released after knee injuries. He rode as a passenger in a pickup driven by Homer C Lewis 44 of 1631 Harper. Lewis collided with a car driven by Joe Schmitz 18 of Route 2. Vehicle damage was estimated at 675 dollars.

Rev Vernon Pettenger a South Africa born Assemblies of God missionary will be guest speaker at First Assembly of God Church Lawrence Sunday. He will show a revival film at 9 45 a m and speak again at 11 a m. He and Mrs Pettenger came to the United States in 1947 and have worked in evangelism Bible school programs in South Africa and at the African Bible Training Institute Rustenburg where he served as president.

Pope Surrenders After FBI 10 Most Wanted Listing
FBI charged Pope with bank robbery and shooting of Franklin Kjeldgaard on June 6. State murder charges followed. A vintage car was found in Wichita as sightings spread nationwide. Pope surrendered at the Hotel State on West 12th Street after the 10 Most Wanted listing was issued. The hotel had been run by W. G. Hutson, former Eldridge Hotel owner.
