Kiddie Karnival Set for Saturday at South Park
The annual Kiddie Karnival at South Park runs 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday with pony rides a horse drawn streetcar a horse go round a fish pond and a shooting gallery. Proceeds support the Lawrence Community Nursery School. Tickets cost 10 cents. In case of rain the event moves to June 22.

Eudora School System Adds Three New Teachers
Three new teachers join the Eudora school system. Barbara Toews from Hillsboro will teach fifth grade, Jane Anderson from Kansas City Kansas will teach sixth grade, and Kraylon Craven from Lawrence will teach seventh grade. At the school board meeting, Earl Slaper and Dr. Leo Lauber were re elected to new terms.

Baby Care Course Set To Begin Next Week
A mother baby care course will begin next week in the Community Building with classes from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday for three weeks. Instructor Oneta Auer, public health nurse, will lead sessions sponsored by the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department, Douglas County Medical Society, the American Red Cross and Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
