A. T. Brown narrowly escaped injury when his Ford coupe was struck by a Union Pacific passenger train at a crossing west of Alante Grove cemetery yesterday. The car was wrecked and Brown, bruised, walked away. Freight and passenger trains were observed passing the crossing as Brown waited for a freight to pass before crossing the tracks. The speeding passenger train struck the car, destroying it and throwing Brown some distance.
