National Summary shows showers and locally heavy gusty thunderstorms stretching from New England to the central Gulf Coast today. The Northwest will cool despite sunshine while showers and storms dampen the Southwest.
A 58-year-old Lawrence man Douglas Hitt is in fair condition after a head-on collision on U S Highway 40 around 11 15 a m Sunday. The eastbound driver Melissa Weisgerber 27 of Topeka collided with Hitt after hitting another westbound vehicle. Weisgerber and her passenger Rebecca Dodds 33 were treated and released at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Greever 38 and his passenger were not injured. Hitt remained hospitalized Monday at Stormont Vail.
