June Walleye Fishing Draws Anglers to Kansas Lakes
In May walleye arrive at Clinton Coffey Hillsdale and Melvern lakes drawing anglers from Lawrence and surrounding areas. Cold water kept numbers modest until Memorial Day heat spurred bigger catches with many small fish and a few keeper size walleye. Crankbaits and jigs with nightcrawlers drive the action, with peak fun in late spring and early summer and strong potential through early October.
