More than 150 children aged 3 to 15 raced up to a mile at Clinton State Park during a morning Ironman venue event. United Healthcare Community Plan chief Tim Spiker praised the health focus and the celebration, and the sponsor donated 3000 dollars to the Boys & Girls Club of Lawrence plus free entry for 50 members.

Ammonia leak injures three at Wichita Farmland plant
A south west Wichita Farmland plant suffered an ammonia leak around 3 p.m. Saturday. Three workers were injured. one in serious condition. All 101 employees evacuated. Two inhalation cases refused treatment while a third was hospitalized in serious condition.

Catholic Charities aids veteran homelessness in Wichita
Moreno, a 50 year old Army veteran who became homeless after arriving in Wichita in 2001, found housing and a job within two months through Catholic Charities Supportive Services for Veteran Families.
