City weighs transit hub sites downtown and Vermont block
Transit staff favor the 800 block of Vermont over 10th and Kentucky for a future downtown station. Estimated repairs to sidewalks and curbs run about 180000 dollars to aid disabled access. If buses double park on 10th Street the street would narrow to one lane. Construction at Ninth and New Hampshire drives the city to seek a new downtown site, with a later report to propose permanent station locations.
