A 20 year old Lawrence man Paul Nieder was hospitalized with possible fractured pelvis and back injuries after a cave-in in the 800 block on Lyons Street. Leonard Calvert was treated for a shoulder injury and released. Lanny Tate was not covered by workers' compensation. The three men worked with City Water Department crews. Tate helped dig and both Nieder and Calvert were freed after the cave-in buried a six foot ditch with sand.
