Judge weighs replacing lawyers in Westar case
In Topeka a federal judge weighs allowing Edward Little and co counsel to withdraw from defending former Westar executive Douglas Lake and ex CEO David Wittig as they face trial in January on conspiracy and internal controls charges. Lawyers say they are owed about 3.3 million for prior work while prosecutors note 5.8 million has been paid and warn withdrawal could delay the trial. Judge Julie Robinson will rule later.

Thompson has yet to enter 2008 races but raises funds and builds a team, embracing an unorthodox Internet driven approach.
