On June six 1944 the D Day invasion opened Europe as Allied forces stormed Normandy beaches. In 1925 Walter P Chrysler founded Chrysler Corp. In 1966 James Meredith was shot while campaigning for black voter registration. In 1968 Robert F Kennedy died in Los Angeles after being shot the day before.
