Flood Refugees Feed City Hall Morning Aid
About 38 flood refugees from North Lawrence were fed in the American Legion rooms of the old city hall shortly after 9 am and another meal was served around 2 pm. J. S. St. Clair organized meals through the Chamber of Commerce and the Douglas County Red Cross. Two meals daily were planned as long as needed, with beef, potatoes, fern, bread and butter, coffee and milk.
