Chief Assassin of Trujillo Cornered and Shot in Trujillo City

Retired Gen Juan Tomas Diaz, accused of organizing the Trujillo assassination, was killed in a gun battle in Ciudad Trujillo along with accomplice Antonio de la Maza. A house to house search led police to the two after a tip. Diaz had plotted after retirement and led the fatal ambush last Tuesday.
