Forum on Biases Highlights Youth Discrimination in Lawrence
A 13 member panel of whites blacks and Hispanics from junior high to high school spoke at a two hour forum at South Junior High to discuss discrimination. About 100 people heard stories of stalking abduction and harassment tied to sexual orientation race and age and debated solutions including classroom diversity discussions and youth job programs. The Lawrence Alliance chaired by Ann Weick organized the event with city officials in attendance and Cedar Gardner moderating.
